Nippon Connection

Florian Markl and Mauro Franicevich Garcia developed a comprehensive communication campaign for the world’s largest Japanese film festival outside of Japan. A specially designed system of numerous pictograms which humorously illustrate Japan’s highly complex culture offered an extremely flexible creative basis for a variety of different applications. This resulted in the small, ironic, self-referential visual world which was used throughout the entire campaign and for events, continually creating surprises for the audience.
