Diamonds 101
Medium: | Short educational film |
Client: | stiletto nyc & GOOD Magazine |
Year: | 2008 |
The short educational film produced for the American GOOD Magazine follows the path of a diamond from the African mines to the fiancés’ ring fingers. In the process, the not entirely unproblematic socio-economic aspects of this commodity in a global multibillion-dollar industry are discussed.
Florian Markl took over the creative realization of the project for the New York design agency stiletto. The video’s manual/analog aesthetic results from the intentional low-budget nature of the production. The props and set design were made almost entirely of paper for less than 10 US dollars in material costs.
